Interoperability: A Seamless Digital Economy
In gaming you can download some games for each gaming platform that you have. Paying each time for the license to do so.
Now there are calls from within the gaming industry to have one platform for video games that users can then download the game they want once and use on multiple platforms. In a seamless way.
There may be other such examples like this in other industries/sectors.
What route will the digital economy follow?
This makes me think of another issue - having separate proprietary systems or having interoperability? One seamless Metaverse or MetaverseS comprised of different branded systems with each system being its own Metaverse (branded Metaverses)? Multiple Metaverses with users have to move between them?
Imagine having one app store that you can download an app to your android or iOS phone and it will work.
If the ‘Splinternet’ happens, it will create even more division in the digital economy.
